RCM RN

Introduction

RCM RN supports the UK Defence Standard 02-45. It conforms completely with the requirements of the standard and supports the project from functional analysis through to task implementation.

Software Features

Functional Hierarchy

A tree-structured breakdown of functions from the top (platform) level to the RCM analysis level.

FMECA and RCM Analysis

FMECA Worksheet Functions, functional failures, failure modes, failure effects and failure criticality codes are entered in the format required by the current 02-45 standard. Functions, functional failures and failure modes may be inserted, deleted and renumbered.

The Decision Worksheet records the answers to the consequence analysis and task selection questions, details of the selected task, interval and skills needed as mandated by NES 45. Skills and intervals may be chosen from lists to ensure consistency between different analyses and facilitators. The Toolkit provides facilities for checking the consistency of task selection responses.

Failure Mode Details Facilitators can record additional information about each failure mode which helps RCM auditors and supports future RCM reviews of the same or similar equipment. Details include: proposed modifications; formal task descriptions; mean time between failures; P-F intervals; component ages and lives; and task and failure costs.

Failure-Finding

For failure-finding tasks only, the Toolkit captures the failure rate and cost data used to derive task intervals. The Toolkit includes a calculator which uses these data to calculate failure-finding intervals on the basis of risk.

Tasks (Job Information Card)

RCM RN captures all information required for the completion of RN Job Information Cards (JICs). The data structures used by RCM RN mirror those of DEF STAN 00-60.
Task information may be entered for any number of tasks per failure mode. If the RCM task selection indicates that no scheduled maintenance is necessary, only the remedial task is needed; otherwise, the database generally contains one originating task and at least one remedial task per failure mode.

The following additional information may appear with each task.

Asset Hierarchy

The Asset Hierarchy records the relationship between assets and equipment in terms of "parent" and "child" relationships. LCN data may be recorded at each level.

Reports

Toolkit reports include the following.

Data Exchange

RCM RN analyses may be transferred between any RCM RN databases and may be exported directly into an RCMS RN database.

Other Features

Version 6 and later of the RCM RN Toolkit includes a full-function spelling checker which can be accessed from most system worksheets.
